After the Mountain boarding session, heard the surf was good so went out early afternoon. The hurricane that ruined the British rowing teams Atlantic effort was almost upon us so was producing some huge waves. The waves were bloody huge, never seen them so big here. Not many people out at the back, only the pros!
Caught a few of the broken waves on the white water and rode a few of them in. thought I'd be a bit adventurous and try and go out the back.
Paddled out and eventually got there, took me 25mins paddling out and got absolutley thrashed getting out there. Was such a releif and my arms felt as though they were lead, could hardly move them after that so waited around at the back with the good guys and watched them for a while cathing some real good waves.
A few 8 foot sets then came through and broke before us which again thrashed me back towards the shoreline. thought enough was enough so headed back into the shallows and caught a few of the white water waves back in. 4 hours in the water and I was absolutely knackered. Could hardly feel my arms after all that paddling.
Later heard there were a few 10 foot sets coming through on Fistral so perfect for the Rip Curl boardmasters
